TEXAS: Black Bass Good on Crankbaits, Texas rigs, Spinnerbaits & Rat-L-Traps

ALAN HENRY:
Water lightly stained; 58-65 degrees; 7.23’ low. Black bass are good on shallow running crankbaits, Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

ARROWHEAD:
Water off color; 56-67 degrees; 8.3’ low. Black bass are fair on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and weightless flukes. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slabs and minnows. Blue catfish are fair to good on juglines with cut shad.

FT. PHANTOM HILL:
Water clear; 58-66 degrees; 9.31′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair to good on Road Runners. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

HUBBARD CREEK:
57-65 degrees; 13.98′ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and weightless flukes. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

OAK CREEK:
Water stained; 57-66 degrees; 13.76’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Zara Spooks early, later switching to Texas rigs, Rat-L-Traps and shakyheads. Crappie are fair on live minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

O.H. IVIE:
Water stained; 58-70 degrees; 36.7′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Rat-L-Traps, shallow running crankbaits, Texas rigs and 3” swimbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on Little Georges. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

POSSUM KINGDOM:
Water fairly clear; 62-71 degrees; 10′ low. Black bass are fair to good on squarebill crankbaits, Texas rigs, Rat-L-Traps and shakyheads. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs and live minnows. Striped bass are fair on live shad. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

SWEETWATER:
Water murky; 58-68 degrees; 13.31’ low. Black bass are fair on shallow running crankbaits, spinnerbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

WHITE RIVER:
Water stained; 57-68 degrees; 23.49’ low. No reports on black bass Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

TEXAS: Black Bass – Good on Live Bait & Texas Rigs Worked Along Tree Lines

ALAN HENRY:
Water lightly stained; 86-90 degrees; 3.04’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, jigs and Caroline rigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait.

ARROWHEAD:
Water semi-turbid; 83-88 degrees; 5.67’ low. Largemouth bass are fair on spinnerbaits and moving to shallower water. Some crappie are still spawning shallow and fishing is good off the dam, state park piers and Henrietta and Deer Creek bridges on chartreuse jigs or minnows. White bass are good and schooling. Blue catfish are good on cut shad while anchored in 5-20 feet and on juglines.

FT. PHANTOM HILL:
Water clear; 85-89 degrees; 4.31′ low. Black bass are fair to good on medium running crankbaits, Texas rigs and drop shot rigs. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. White bass are fair to good on chrome Rat-L-Traps. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

HUBBARD CREEK:
83-89 degrees; 10.53′ low. Black bass are good on shaky head jigs, Texas rigs, spinnerbaits and medium running shad pattern crankbaits. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows over deeper structure. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

OAK CREEK:
Water stained; 84-89 degrees; 9.14’ low. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, crankbaits and drop shot rigs. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut shad.

O.H. IVIE:
Water stained; 85-89 degrees; 29.32′ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Yum Dingers and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Rooster Tails. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.

POSSUM KINGDOM:
Water stained; 83-89 degrees; 2.27′ low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, jigs and deep diving H2O crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs and Little Georges. Striped bass are fair on live shad. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

SWEETWATER:
Water murky; 83-88 degrees; 8.45’ low. Black bass are fair to good on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs, Carolina rigs, jigs and medium running crankbaits. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

WHITE RIVER:
Water stained; 83-87 degrees; 17.95’ low. Black bass are good on live bait and Texas rigs worked along tree lines and brush. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Walleye are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on live bait.

ATHENS:
Water clear; 81-88 degrees; 1.56’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged worms, jigs and medium running crankbaits. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

BOB SANDLIN:
Water lightly stained; 82-88 degrees; 4.22’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, football jigs and medium crankbaits. Crappie are good on live minnows. White bass are fair on slabs and Little Georges. Catfish are fair to good on trotlines or juglines with Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap.

BRIDGEPORT:
Water lightly stained; 79-85 degrees; 5.37’ low. Black bass are good on Jackall SK Pop Grande topwaters and Firewater flipping jigs in 3/8oz. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on slabs and live shad. Hybrid striper are fair on live bait. Channel catfish are good on cut and prepared bait on shallow flats.

CADDO:
Water murky; 83-87 degrees; 0.02′ high. Black bass are good on Texas rigs and topwaters early. White bass are fair on Road Runners and minnows. Yellow bass are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.

CEDAR CREEK:
Water lightly stained; 81-86 degrees; 3.38′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs and shallow square bill crankbaits around docks. White bass are good throughout day on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. Crappie are fair to good on minnows with shallow bite improving. Catfish are fair drifting cut shad.

COOPER:
Water lightly stained; 82-87 degrees; 5.46’ low; Black bass are good on crankbaits, topwaters early and Texas rigs throughout the day. Crappie are good on minnows with movement towards the shallows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait.

FAIRFIELD:
Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD is currently stocking the lake. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.

FORK: Water fairly clear; 81-87 degrees; 3.65′ low. Black bass are good on BoHonk Echo Magic bladed jigs in shallow water, Texas rigs with Jackall Sasuteki Craws and watermelon/green pumpkin jigs in 8-15 feet along creek channels – football jigs in deeper water are working well. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.

GRAPEVINE:
Water lightly stained; 81-86 degrees; 0.03′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged worms, finesse jigs and medium crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut shad.

JOE POOL:
Water lightly stained; 83-88 degrees; 0.23′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, topwaters early and crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and prepared baits.

LAKE O’ THE PINES:
Water lightly stained; 82-87 degrees; 0.23′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, topwaters and jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad.

LAVON:
Water stained; 83-88 degrees; 2.25’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, topwaters and medium running crankbaits. White bass are good on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around bridge columns. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

LEWISVILLE:
Water lightly stained; 83-87 degrees; 0.28′ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, finesse jigs and Texas rigged plastics. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs but getting better. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and Sassy Shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and chartreuse (use Worm-Glo) nightcrawlers.

MONTICELLO:
Water fairly clear; 84-92 degrees; 0.42′ high. Black bass are good on shallow crankbaits, hollow belly swimbaits and Texas rigs. No reports on crappie. No reports on catfish.

PALESTINE:
Water lightly stained; 83-88 degrees; 2.33′ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Texas rigs LFT Worms and jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs, Sassy Shad and live shad. White bass are fair to good on slabs and minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait and chartreuse nightcrawlers (use Worm-Glo).

RAY HUBBARD:
Water fairly clear; 82-87 degrees; 1.37′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, finesse jigs and hollow belly swimbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and Road Runners. White bass are excellent on humps in 17-23 feet (with hybrid striper mixed in). All fish caught on 1 oz. slabs. Catfish are good on prepared baits.

RAY ROBERTS:
Water clear; 81-86 degrees; 1.00′ low. Black bass are fair on Pop Rs early, later switching to shaky head worms around main lake points with rocks. Crappie are still very good on small jigs in brush in 20-25 feet. White bass are good and schooling early on most main lake points – slabs are producing better fish in 30-35 feet. Catfish are good on punchbait over baited holes.

RICHLAND CHAMBERS:
Water lightly stained; 82-86 degrees; 3.18’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, crankbaits and topwaters. White bass are fair on slabs and live shad. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs and live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

TAWAKONI:
Water fairly clear; main lake is 83-87 degrees; 2.64′ low. Black bass are good on creature baits and crankbaits fished around docks and timber. Crappie are fair on 1/16 oz. curltail grubs and small minnows around bridge pilings. White bass are excellent on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are good in shallow water where shad are spawning – use shad pattern swimbaits and white Sassy Shad. Catfish are excellent and spawning shallow on rip rap.

TEXOMA:
Water lightly stained; 81-85 degrees; 1.31′ low. Black bass are good on crankbaits, Texas rigs and topwaters. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs. Striped bass are good on live shad and large Road Runners. Catfish are good on cut and live shad.

WEATHERFORD:
Water lightly stained; 83-87 degrees; 5.09’ low. Black bass are good on topwaters, Texas rigs and Lake Fork Tackle Hyper Sticks. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs in. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and cut shad. White bass are fair on slabs and live minnows.

WRIGHT PATMAN:
Water stained; 82-86 degrees; 7.39′ high. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, crankbaits and topwaters. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on cut shad and prepared bait.

TEXAS: West – Black Bass are Fair on Texas Rigs & Jigs

ALAN HENRY:
No Water lightly stained; 59-67 degrees. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, drop shot rigs and shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared and cut bait.

ARROWHEAD:
Water semi-turbid; 60 degrees; 4.16’ low. Black bass are fair. Crappie are good off the dam, state park piers and at the Henrietta and Deer Creek bridges at 7-12 feet; White bass are improving and starting to school. Blue catfish are still good on cut shad while anchored in deeper water up to 30 feet deep.

FT. PHANTOM HILL:
Water clear; 60-65 degrees; 2.85′ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

HUBBARD CREEK:
60-66 degrees; 9.5′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Rat-L-Traps, spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and Senkos. Crappie are fair to good on minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are good on prepared bait over baited holes.

OAK CREEK:
Water stained; 61-66 degrees. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait.

O.H. IVIE:
Water stained; 61-68 degrees; 27.16′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs fished shallow. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

Water stained; 62-69 degrees; 1.51′ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, split-shot rigged flukes and jerkbaits. Crappie are good on live minnows, jigs and Road Runners fished shallow. No Water lightly stained; 59-67 degrees. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, spinnerbaits, drop shot rigs and shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared and cut bait.
