Missing the specks!!!

Well I know the surf is quiet, except for the schools of frigid reds, but i sure miss the specks. I’m hoping that this warmer weather this weekend will intice something to bite in the surf. The last good day i had was the first week of dec. Wore the trout out in the surf off Carolina Beach! Now all i can have fun with is the dogfish and skates, seeing that I’m a shore fisherman.

The conditions are prime for surf reds this weekend, so get out there and FISH!!!

LOUISIANA: Southeast – Great Day with family

Saturday, December 4th, 2010

Thursday morning I headed down the ICW with my 2 brothers to the Bayou Thomas area where the water was muddy.

A solid falling tide with low water. Found another cut where the water was clean and birds were present. Caught trout for a good 45 minutes under a cork with a few throwbacks. Picked up a red deeper inside the cut.

We moved and ended up catching 90% of the trout in the ICW in 12′ of water on soft plastics. Stayed there until 1pm and ended up with 50 trout and 3 redfish.

Nice day with zero wind.
