MISSISSIPPI: Special Day Awaits You in Beautiful Biloxi

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Come on down folks, the water and seafood (fish) are fine! And the WHIPASNAPA can catch these little fish, good as the best of um! Man, well lets just say we’re not getting out enough. I know there was a small oil spill an all, but I hate not being out fishing, catching, boating or just enjoying new and old companions for a day aboard the WHIPASNAPA. Seriously, we use to being on the water at least 5 to 7 days a week and would love to get a few more of these light tackle trips in. Really been pretty successful at them, flounders, specks, reds, spanish, black drum, white trout, and ground mullet have all been lifted over the side of o’l Whipasnapa lately. (And brought a many smiles.) (an stank lots grease)

I started this business mostly concentrating on red snapper, and they pinched us so bad on them, got to be really hard to make it. So bought new boat to run tuna trips and now oil is going to hamper that. But the light tackle stuff is what I was brought up on and have really enjoyed getting back to some of it.

So if looking for the good out of this, I have gotten to sharpen my light tackle skills in the Biloxi Back Bay. But still have some sharpening to do so come on down and help me out!! WHAT EVER IT TAKES; LETS GO CRACK UM;
Don’t forget to get your scores in(Brett will play) go to specials page for details. your next trip aboard the WhipaSnapa could be on the boat ( house)!
Thanks to all that have helped pull us through, come on lets but this tragedy behind us!!!

MISSISSIPPI: Flounder tops Biloxi Back Bay fishing

Thursday, July 29th, 2010

Man them darn flounders fun, Yea! eat good too, hun; Can’t complain about the o’l flat fish, they got it all going on!!!!

Early week they were on, had that early morning high tide and the flounders were moving up close to shore and on the flats to feed on the falling tide. And the WHIPASNAPA was jaw jacking um, 32 or so in 2 days, with a few nice trout, did the Bay Slam one day, Reds, flounders, and trout. All on the pogey which is very plentiful right now. They opened up the live baiting for shrimp also, but if got them pogeys they as good as any. Saturday’s, N. La crew got on the black drum 20 or so good eating size, like the shrimp for them, and a couple reds, but where undersized they seem to prefer the shrimp also. A few nice trout, specks, and whites, and one flat fish. Pretty darn good bite all week. Thanks to all!

Bay should continue to be hot, as the weather! Islands opening up for some catch and release. Hear the reds are pretty thick out there still waiting. Maybe they will give us a lil federal water to go get some fall cobia, groupers, kings, etc….?!

Come on load up for your WhipaSnapa Good Time: Just a lil reminder that summer almost over for the kids and we still catching some pretty darn good fish in the Bay, and should just keep getting better, Red and black drum, flounder, trout, etc…. Catch and release at Islands. Say some test should be back next couple days and may open up a lil bit of federal water too. So maybe we can get in a few fall cobia runs which was fantastic last couple years. Keep us in mind and if possible come on get on the WhipaSnapa and lets do the dang thang.

GOOD LUCK

MISSISSIPPI: Biloxi Back Bay getting mighty lively!

Tuesday, July 20th, 2010

Took a lil minication this week an of course missed a trip or 2, kid’s had an invite to tour Ms State University. Did that an spent day or so with mom in Grenada, an swung through ol pops in Neshoba Co.

Went boating on lil’ WHIPA today and set out the crab pots, been tasting some good ol’boiled crabs. Decided while I was out to take a couple of fish weapons with me and the brill net. After putting out crab pots, went over and found one factory working and with one throw the net started swimming off with the pogey’s (oh yea). So off to do lil fishing, wanted to fish some new spots, went to old reef by mouth of Fort Bayou.
As I approached the reef I could smell fish and could see several boils on top. Throwed the anchor and it was on, as soon as the pogey hit the water BAM! For about 2 hours I sat there and reeled in fish as fast as humanly possible; specks, white trout, and some drag ripping gafftops. Most of the specks were 12 1/2 to 13 1/2 in. Just kept a few and left them biting.

On way back, decided to stop try one more lil spot. Old discharge pier close to ramp and soon as my free lined pogey got up next to the pier BAM! Red fish, caught three, one was tagged and was the only one to make the 18in cut the other two were just a lil under size, but a blast on the light spin weapon.

Boy, tell ya they keep this oil shut down might open up lil bit more water. But if not man the Bay is alive and well! We did reel well in Bay last year especially Aug. and Sept. Sure would love to get in a snapper trip!!!!!!!!
Come on down South Mississippi and step aboard the WHIPASNPAPA! That’s all you have to do.

Ready to fish; tired of fighting with those people that SAY they gone make it right; bs from the bp; so if you need a cut especially for the kids,

call us an LETS GO GET UM!!!!!!!!!!

That’s what we do best

MISSISSIPPI: Bay Fishing Is On The Agenda For Now

Wednesday, July 14th, 2010

Today’s fishing was rather sparse compared to the last two weeks of big white trout catches.

Day before yesterday you couldn’t keep them off the hook, yet today we were scratching for a small mess.

However, Leonard from Alabama had a great time catching a mess of the silvery trout as well as a couple of black drum. For some reason they just didn’t turn on today, but that’s why the call it fishing not catching. Never the less, Leonard is coming back in October to do it again, and he’s a great guy to fish with.

A little time off will be good fo the soul, and I want to thank all of the clients for hanging there with me through all of this oil mess. I truly appreciate your business, and time spent together on south Mississippi’s waters.
