TENNESSEE: Old Hickory – Throwing Rattle traps at Bass Feeding on Schooling Shad

Dig-In-Anchors.com

Bass fishing is starting to slow down a little right now.

Some fish are still in the backs of creeks, but found most have moved to transition banks. Try throwing rattle traps at bass feeding on schooling shad in the banks of the creeks. We caught some of the bigger fish on a spinnerbiat, like a secret weapon spinnerbait. The key is to find banks with rip rap, and then find wood on those banks. Try to hit and bounce off of the wood, at different angles. The fish we caught off the transition banks, were between 8 to 12 feet. Jerkbaits and jigs were our baits of choice when fishing these banks.

Just keep in mind that fishing is slowing down, but the chances of catching a big trophy bass is at its best right now.
